Due to the overwhelming response received over the past 2 nights, we’ve decided to extend it for one more day.

Therefore, people may come on Saturday (11 April) from 7.00 – 10.00pm. For tonight and tomorrow night, we shall be giving out numbers for the first 120 people for guaranteed entry. After the 120th number, the rest of the people may wait but may not be guaranteed a chance to enter. There will be a place provided for people to meditate. Please bring your own Bible, journal and pen.

FYI, numbers will only be given out to those who are present. Please do not take numbers for your family/friends who are not yet at Dream Centre, to be fair to those who are already here.

Thank you for your kind understanding.

Sincerely,

Pr Margaret Loy

As Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday approaches, it is a timely moment to pause and immerse ourselves again in the heart of the Gospel : the story of Jesus’ suffering, death and resurrection. We lead such busy lives that this time of the year often goes by without us remembering how significant it is. This year, we invite you to step out from the mad rush, be still and join us on a journey of faith.

On this journey, you will meditate on key episodes leading to our Lord’s crucifixion, there will be time for deep prayer, space for contemplation, and invitations to respond. Experience a different way to worship the Saviour, one which involves your whole person – your mind, your spirit and your five senses.

This Easter, return to your first love. Rediscover Shalom.

Join us on this Journey to the Cross

Date : 8 – 10 April 2009

Time : Anytime between 7pm – 10pm each night

Venue: Rooms 201 -205, Dream Centre

What is Involved?

The activity involves the participant progressing through 13 stations, each station representing a particular event in Christ’s journey to the cross (except the first and last). At each station, there will be:

(i) Passage of scripture to read

(ii) Something to reflect on

(iii) Simple activity to help us focus and meditate (e.g. something to hold, write, smell, eat)

Is it a group / individual activity?

The ‘journey’ is largely for individual contemplation and prayer – the focus being stillness before God, hence will be a quiet and meditative experience. To ensure that each person has space (some of the reflections are quite personal), the flow of the crowd will be controlled at the start to ensure no more than 3 persons at each station.

Does it start at 7.00pm? How long does it take?

There is no fixed starting time, people can drop by anytime between 7-10pm Wed – Fri. The whole ‘journey’ will take between 30 minute to an hour, depending on how long the participant spends at each station. The idea is to take time, and not rush.

Will there be any ushers / guides?

Before starting the journey, participants will be briefed beforehand. There will also be a booklet given to participants, which can be used to journal thoughts, although there will be instructions posted at each station also. Otherwise, it is a “self-guided” activity.

Do I need to bring anything?

Nothing. Only your burdens, struggles, hopes and dreams – to place before the Cross.

Can I invite my oikos?

This journey is primarily for Christians, but if you have friends who are open and wish to learn more about Jesus, they are most welcome.

How can I help?

Please contact Pr Margaret margaret.loy@dumc.com.my or Yew Khuen if you are interested. Yew Khuen number: 017 3363882.
